On the occasion of His Majesty the King’s Official Birthday in June, Rory (Lower Sixth) from our CCF Royal Air Force Section accompanied the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Mrs Jennifer Tolhurst, to Colchester Garrison for a Royal 21-Gun Salute.

FSgt Rory is serving as the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for 2024-2025, and is Lead Cadet of the CCF's RAF Section at WHSB. Mr Jones also attended this important occasion in his capacity with Essex Wing RAFAC.

This was the Royal 21-Gun Salute at Colchester Garrison (one of only 12 Royal Saluting stations in the UK), conducted by G Parachute Battery (Mercer’s Troop), 7th Parachute Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery.

We are proud of Rory for his continued outstanding service in this important role.
