Congratulations to George (Year 11) who has been awarded a Silver Medal for his entry in the Maclaurin Mathematical Olympiad. George’s impressive medal was presented to him at School on Friday. We are so proud of George’s fantastic achievement, which places him as one of the country’s top 50 Mathematicians from Years 9-11. Alongside his silver medal, George received a book about further studies in Mathematics.

The School also received the results of the Junior Mathematics Challenge, and we are delighted that 28 pupils from Years 7 and 8 at WHSB are through to the next stage. In total, an impressive 46 Gold, 65 Silver and 34 Bronze Certificates were awarded during the competition. Well done to all the pupils involved, and thank you to their teachers in the Mathematics Department for their superb support. We wish them well as they prepare for the next stage.
