Record results for WHSB at the 2024 Intermediate Maths Challenge (IMC)
During last term, pupils at WHSB achieved record results in the 2024 Intermediate Maths Challenge (IMC), a national competition run by the UK Maths Trust, in which over 200,000 young people took part. A total of 195 WHSB pupils from across Years 9, 10 and 11 entered the competition, and we are proud of their success.
This year, 46 WHSB pupils were awarded Bronze Certificates, 83 Silver, and 35 Gold Certificates. Based on their qualifying IMC scores, 19 of our pupils reached the competition’s following round, “Kangaroo” challenges. WHSB’s highest scoring pupil, Reuben (Year 9), was invited to participate in the prestigious UK Maths Trust’s Intermediate Cayley Olympiad.
Congratulations to all those who took part, including those who were awarded certificates, and our Kangaroo and Caylee Olympiad entrants; this is a fantastic achievement on a national level. We are grateful to Miss James for her work in preparing the pupils for the competition and for organising their participation.
